"...and all at once, summer collapsed into fall." - Oscar Wilde
With the drop in temperatures and daylight hours dwindling there is a sea of warming yellow, orange and red tones throughout Paree. Such a magical autumn colour palette is fleeting however, with more and more leaves playfully falling to the ground each day. The sound of leaves crunching under my feet these past few weeks has served as a delightful reminder to live in the moment and appreciate the simple things in life.
Here are a few of my favourite places in Paris to experience the changing seasons.
Place des Vosages:
I always make a point of strolling though the gorgeous archways of Paree's oldest square whenever I'm in the Marais. Containing a lovely tree lined garden with calming fountains. Not to mention Carette is right nearby...
Place des Vosges, 75004 Paris
Jardin des Tuileries:
By far the biggest tourist magnet yet still a favourite to stroll through whenever en route to the Seine.
113 Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris
Jardin du Palais-Royal:
A long-time favourite place to visit when I need a moment of calm from the otherwise busy centre of the city. Enter through the courtyard of the Palais-Royal, featuring the amazing yet controversial Colonnes deBuren. Grab a coffee at Café Kitsuné and then take in the beautiful gardens and architecture by the fountain.
6 Rue de Montpensier, 75001 Paris
Jardin du Luxembourg:
One of my favourite places in Paris when it comes to people watching. A truly grand garden filled with beautiful seasonal blooms, incredible sculptures, numerous games of chess, picnics and adorable remote control boats gliding along the pond.
Rue de Médicis - Rue de Vaugirard - 75006 Paris
Jardin des Plantes:
A botanical lover's dream. Come for dahlias in autumn and cherry blossoms during spring.
57 Rue Cuvier, 75005 Paris
