After several days of rain we decided to make the most of the newfound sunshine with a picnic in the park. Turns out that we were on the same wavelength as a good chunk of New York inhabitants that day.
The newly returned pops of green and cherry blossoms really were a sight for sore eyes. Despite the considerable crowds that day (including cute couples recovering post flight with luggage turned headrests in toe) there was still a calming atmosphere in the park as we enjoyed our Mexican picnic (Burrito Box does some showstopper corn chips with salsa and a delicious, albeit over packed burrito!) surrounded by the Manhattan skyline. Walking off our Mexican feast was a delight by the lake lined intermittingly with cherry blossom trees. Ending with watching the cute model sailboats float peacefully at the Conservatory Water.
A tranquil moment within a city bursting with energy.
